First time Family Camping

And they enjoyed it so much! Two months on and the kids still talk about the friends they made, how they got to stay up late, toasting marshmallows and swimming in the sea. All the fresh air meant that they slept so much better than I anticipated and apart from one early morning with the youngest, they slept in longer than they would at home too. 

My four year old daughter took great delight in setting up our home from home whilst we were away. Toys were stashed away in pockets in the tent and clothes were kept in the travel wardrobe which meant the children could be more self-sufficient and help themselves to what they needed without creating (as much) mess. The kitchen stand meant that we could store everything they needed to help set the table. 

Meals are a big part of our family life at home. All five of us eat together most evenings and we cook a big brunch at least a couple of weekends a month. I thought cooking together over a small stove would be tricky but the kitchen stand had prep areas and shelves. It was like having a mini kitchen! The picnic bench also meant the kids could help prepare food (no photos of that as I had to make sure all fingers remained in tact!) and we could all sit together without having to balance plates on our laps.
